New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Virginia "Dolly" Fremin Delahoussaye, 69, who passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017, in Lafayette.
A gathering of family and friends will be Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM on Sunday, and will continue on Monday from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Sunday.
Rev. Francois Sainte-Marie will be the Celebrant.
Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.
A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Virginia "Dolly" Ann Fremin Delahoussaye was born on December 20, 1947 to the late Wiltz Fremin and Dolores LeBlanc Guilbeaux. She attended New Iberia Senior High, and was a retired bus driver with the Iberia Parish School Board. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and enjoyed playing cards, bowling, camping, and going to the casino.
Dolly is survived by sons, Carroll W. Guilbeaux and wife Tracey of Broussard, John Grady Delahoussaye of New Iberia, and Todd W. Guilbeaux of New Iberia; stepson, John C. Delahoussaye, Jr. of Gauthier, MS; sisters, Juanita Ewing of Lydia, and Debbie Fremin of New Iberia; grandchildren, Kyle Guilbeaux and wife Amanda, Shea Guilbeaux, Kandace Guilbeaux, Todd Guilbeaux, Jr., Dylan Dore, Carroll Ray Guilbeaux, and Bailey Delahoussaye; great-grandchildren, Charlie Jane Guilbeaux and Memphis James Guilbeaux; godchildren, Charlie Martin and Rachel Renee Fremin; sisters-in-law, Mazel Fremin, Linda Fremin and Murlene Leitner, all of New Iberia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by husband, John Curley Delahoussaye; brothers, Lynwood and Patrick Fremin; infant son, Carroll Ray Rooks; nephew, Scott Fremin; step-father, John Carroll Guilbeaux; and a stepson, Jodi Delahoussaye.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Guilbeaux, Todd Guilbeaux, Jr., Dylan Dore, Carroll Ray Guilbeaux, Bailey Delahoussaye, and Cory Fremin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Fremin, Jr., Robby Fremin, and Bobby Leitner.
