New Iberia - Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Virgye Waters Zenon, 73, who passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016, in St. Martinville. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A longtime area resident, Mrs. Zenon was born on October 18, 1943 to the late Milton Waters, Sr. and Gladys Urquhart Waters, and was a member of the St. Martinville Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed preaching, photography, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Paul Zenon of St. Martinville; son, Eric Zenon and wife Angela of Parks; daughter, Nicole Parker of New Iberia; brother, Dennis Waters and wife Brenda of Baltimore, MD; sisters, Elvira Wright of Baltimore, MD, Myrna Burgess of Baltimore, MD, Elsie Whittle and husband George of Waterproof, Lydia Young and husband Larry Young, Sr. of Glen Burnie, MD; 7 grandchildren; nephew, Larry Young, Jr. and wife D'Lena of Glen Burnie, MD; niece, Janell Miller and husband Mike of Baltimore, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Milton Waters, Jr..
