Cecilia, Louisiana - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia honoring the life of Vivian T. Cormier, 96, who passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. .

A visitation will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

Rev. Greg Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Carey Laviolette and Jeanne Guidroz.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.

Vivian Cormier, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on January 23, 1929, Vivian lived a vibrant life dedicated to her family and community in New Iberia, Louisiana.

As a talented hairdresser for over 25 years, Vivian had a unique gift for making everyone she encountered feel beautiful. Her passion for her craft was only surpassed by her love for those around her. Vivian's warm personality and welcoming spirit meant that she never met a stranger; she had an innate ability to connect with people and instill confidence in everyone she encountered, especially her beloved children.

She created countless memories with her family, whether through her famous cooking, spirited card games with friends, or her infectious laughter during shopping trips.

Vivian's spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered for her kindness, her ability to uplift others, and her unwavering love for her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Johnny) Schexnayder; son, Michael (Louise) Richard; grandchildren, Michael Richard, Jr. and Michelle McJimsey; and her great-grandchild, Dominic Richard.

She is preceded in death by her spouse, James Cormier; parents, Andrew and Nemez Tauzin Thibodeaux; and her brothers, Lloyd and Chester Thibodeaux.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Schexnayder, Michael Richard, Jr., Joey Billeaud, Danny Thibodeaux, David Thibodeaux, and Charles Lastrapes.
