Parks- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2006, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks for Vivian Cecile Potier Thomas, 76, who died Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Mrs. Thomas loved playing bingo and attending church. Her most treasured moments in life was the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include four sons, Ronnie Thomas of Lafayette, David Thomas, Sherman Thomas, both of New Iberia, and Gilbert Thomas of Houston, TX; four daughters, Joanne Sylvester of Breaux Bridge, Genelle Jolivette of Lafayette, Rose Calais of Parks, and Norma Williams of St. Martinville; three brothers, Louis Potier of Dallas, TX, Edward Potier and Wilfred Potier, both of Houston, TX; three sisters, Helen Mitchell, Eva Pipkin, both of Houston, TX, and Mary Ruth Clement of St. Martinville; eleven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Thomas; her daughter, Brenda Ann Thomas; and her parents, Viola and Albert Potier, Sr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Louis Chapel in Parks from 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2006 and continue until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Williams, Gilbert Thomas, David Thomas, Patrick Clement, Thaddeus Potier, and Rodney Potier.
