New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for W. Ray Hebert, 85, who died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, in Lafayette.
Interment will be at a later date in the Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Bill Gearheard will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 3:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM.
Born on August 4, 1927, Mr. Hebert proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Army, during World War II and the Korean Wars. He retired from McDermott Offshore, and was a former driver for the Council on Aging. An avid New Orleans Saints fan, he enjoyed bowling, woodworking, and playing bingo at the Council on Aging.
He is survived by his wife Lois Migues Hebert of New Iberia; sons, Don Hebert and wife LeeAnn of Tarpon Springs, FL, Kenny Hebert and wife Pat of Albuquerque, NM, Randy Hebert of New Iberia, Billy Hebert and wife Cheryl of New Iberia; 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustine and Elviere Guillotte Hebert; a grandson, Brad Dore; brother, Raymond Claude Hebert; sister, Laura Badeaux; half sisters, Edith Gary, and Ezare Hebert.
