Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2006, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Wade Antoine Demouchet, 89, who died Friday, March 24, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Entombment will be in St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Demouchet loved building things and gardening. Hunting was one of his pastimes along with sports. He played as a catcher on the Breaux Bridge Community Baseball League. Wade was known for being an all around "handy-man".
Survivors include his wife Viola C. Demouchet of Breaux Bridge; his son, Wilbert LeBlanc and his wife, Shirley of Breaux Bridge; his daughters, Mary Mae Castille Paul of Breaux Bridge, Lou Bertha Lewis of Breaux Bridge, Mary Alexander Irvin and her husband Algy Irvin Sr. of Thibodaux and Linda Alexander Shanklin of Breaux Bridge; his brother, Paul of Port Arthur, TX; his sister, Margret Alexis of Port Arthur, TX; his son-in-law, Lloyd Shanklin Sr. of New Orleans: 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Bertha T. Demouchet; his brothers Sam , Allen, Robert and Preston.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2006 until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 8:30 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2006.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Shanklin Jr., Leonard Shanklin, Algy Irvin Jr., Antoine Irvin, Donald LeBlanc and Michael LeBlanc.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
