Wade Gachassin

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia for Wade Patrick Gachassin, Sr., 53, who died Thursday, July 12, 2012 in New Iberia. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery at a later date. Msgr. Richard Greene will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 2:30 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331. Born on September 29, 1958, Wade is a native and resident of New Iberia. He attended New Iberia Senior High School, and worked as a welder in the oilfield. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, camping, and riding is dune buggy. Wades greatest pleasure was spoiling his children, nieces, and nephews. His family was his life. Survivors include his wife Angela Bayard Gachassin of New Iberia; sons, Cody Christy of Erath, Wade Gachassin, Jr. of New Iberia; daughters, Tangi Gachassin and Brittany Gachassin both of New Iberia; step son, Joshua Bayard of New Iberia; step daughters, Nicole Bayard and Sophie Bayard both of New Iberia; brothers, Ray Gachassin and wife Darlene of Broussard, Johnny Gachassin and wife Phyllis, Adleys Gachassin and wife Greta, Rickey Gachassin and wife Cheryl, and Jack Gachassin all of New Iberia; sisters, Mary Alice Gachassin of Erath, Ella Mae Carter and husband Mike of Arnaudville, Marie Elaine Charpentier and husband Gayle, Susie Ann Bonin and husband Kenny, Anna Lee Labit and husband Renice all of New Iberia, Brenda Faye Deroucher and husband Lloyd of Delcambre; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adleys and Nola Norris Gachassin; nephews, Jude Labit and Brady Labit; and his grandparents. Pallbearers will be Cody Christy, Wade Gachassin, Jr., Joshua Bayard, Lee Charpentier, Bradley Charpentier, and Jade Labit. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
