Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, on Monday, September 21, 2015, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau, for Wallace Joseph Lopez, 84, who passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 4:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until 9:15 AM.
A native of New Iberia, Mr. Lopez was born on December 11, 1930 to Octave and Louisiana Vallot Lopez. He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a retired iron worker. His hobbies included fishing, crabbing, and gardening.
Survivors include his children, Diana Lopez of San Francisco, CA, Tina Pellerin of Lafayette, Linda Lopez of New Iberia, Lisa Lopez of Boca Raton, FL, Karen Lopez of Roseville, CA, Peter Lopez and wife Claire of Clear Lake, CA; sisters, Frenzella Thibeau of Beaumont, TX, Mary Zenon of Grosse Isle; grandchildren, Bernadette, Sophia, Ivan, Marla, Melissa, Erica, Toni, Andrew, Nina, Danny, Antonio, Juannie, Ruby Rose, Athena; great grandchildren, Dylan, Jacob, Myah, Isaiah, Natalia, Dominique, and Isaiah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter Lopez, Frank Lopez, Joe Lopez, Warren Lopez, Francis Lopez, Willie Lopez; and a sister, Victoria Lopez.
