New Iberia Wallace J. Romero, 85 passed away quietly while sleeping on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.
He was a loving, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His enjoyment was bass fishing, his flowers, and going to the casino.
During his early days, he was an avid bowler with the Queen City Bowling League. He loved bass fishing, and cooking with family and friends. Mr. Romero proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1953 on the Bon Homme Richard Aircraft Carrier.
He was an accountant by trade serving on the LA Board of Accountant for many years. Mr. Romero was also a business manager for S and W Machine Shop, and National Oilwell.
Survivors include his daughter, Mona Lisa Romero; his son, Clayton J. Romero; sister-in-law, Elsie P. Romero; brother-in-law, Willie Poirrier; a special niece, Shirley Dautreuil; and caretakers his nieces, Sierra Dutile and Tina D. Olivier. He is also survived by his pet and companion Baby Girl.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Nola B. Romero; parents, Noelie R. Poirrier and Simon Romero; step father, Eddie Poirrier; brother, Woodrow Red Romero; sisters, Loretta R. Dutile, Laura Mae Poirrier, and Neoma Derouen.
Mona and Clayton would like to thank Dr. James Walker, Dr. Robert Lahasky, Dr. Rinaldi, Oncologic and Heart of Hospice. Also special thanks to Ashley Brinkhaus, and Terry Mallet for their unending care of our father.
Mr. Romero requested that no services will be held.
