Wallace Thibodeaux

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2006, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Wallace "Sarge" Simon Thibodeaux, 80, who died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Entombment will be in St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Sarge was an honorary member of the Louisiana Sheriffs Program and a member of the American Legion Post 289 in Parks. He was dedicated and loyal to his family owned business, "Thibodeaux's Grocery and Hardware". He enjoyed agriculture and his favorite companion was his rat terrier mix dog "Soko". Survivors include his brother, Harry Thibodeaux of St. Martinville; his nieces, Brenda Verret who was also his godchild and caregiver, Jannette T. Augirre and Belinda Thibodeaux and his nephew, Terry Thibodeaux. He was preceded in death by his parents Cecile and Widmare Thibodeaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 am - 10:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2006; 8:00 am - 10:00 pm on Thursday, December 21, 2006 and continue at 8:00 am on Friday, December 22, 2006 until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Wednesday and Thursday. Pallbearers will be Michael Verret, Ryan Verret, Shawn Verret, Shane Verret, Tyler Thibodeaux, Travis Thibodeaux, Brad Bienvenu and Bryan Bienvenu. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
