Walter Guidry

Arnaudville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Walter Guidry, 85, who passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2 pm until 9 pm on Monday and continue on Tuesday at 7 am until 12:30 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Monday. Rev. Keenan W. Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Cale Dor and Linda Thibodeaux. Entombment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum in Arnaudville. Mr. Guidry was retired from the oil industry where he worked as a driller. He had a love for music and was also a musician who had been playing the steel guitar since he was 11 years old. In his free time Walter enjoyed playing cards with his buddies, but his most treasured times were those spent with his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Dor and her husband, Ronnie, of Arnaudville; one grandson, Cale Dor and his wife, Diana; two great granddaughters, Aubree and Grace Dor; and his sister, Doris Stelly of Arnaudville. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gladys Vitte Guidry; his son, Johnny W. Guidry; and his parents, Clesmae and Irene Noel Guidry.
