Walter Martin

January 10, 1925 — August 22, 2009

Breaux Bridge - Walter Martin, 84, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Walter was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He enjoyed playing golf, hiking, sailing, cross-country skiing, traveling, and reading. Walter was known as one of the "thousand of snow birds". Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Madeline O. Martin, of Breaux Bridge; one son, Charles James Martin, of Fontana, CA; and two daughters, Linda A. Canuelle (William), of Breaux Bridge, and Eva Lois Cooke (Gary Steven), of Attica, MI.; grandchildren, Michelle, Langdon, Hannah, Madison, Nichelle, Jessica, Deniko and Cody; great grandchildren, Cody, Elijah, Aris, Gary James, Ashya and Kaily. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Smith and Vera Martin; and his grandchildren, Lisa Ann Canuelle and Timothy Anthony Cooke. Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
