New Iberia - Memorial services will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Dry Creek, LA at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2019 for Wanda McDonald, 59, who passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 29, 2019, in New Iberia. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of services. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
Wanda Jean Couch McDonald was born in Beaumont, Texas on October 26, 1959 to the late Bill Couch and Betty Harper Couch Burnett. A longtime resident of New Iberia, she worked as a home health nurse. Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed.
Ms. McDonald is survived by her loving companion of 20 years, Bernie LeMaire of New Iberia; sons, Nathan McDonald and finacee' Rustie Thomas of Hackberry, and Brandon McDonald of Sugartown; sisters, Teri King and husband Thomas, and Jeri Lea; brothers, George Couch and wife Debbie, Leamon G. Burnett and wife Mandy, and David Burnett and wife Amy; and six grandchildren, Alex Granger, Logun Granger, Kloey Granger, Gabby Potter, Gage McDonald, and Caleigh McDonald.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by stepfather, Leamon L. Burnett; and siblings, Billy and Golda Couch.
