Wanda Walker

Cecilia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia , for Wanda Latiolais Walker, 64, who passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Father Michael Delcambre will officiate at the funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Maxine Latiolais and Michelle Kelly. Eucharistic Ministers will be Diana Buford and Velma Borel. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Mrs. Walker was a 1964 graduate of Mercy High School in St. Martinville. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church for over 40 years, where she taught religion for over 20 years, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar Society and the Rosary Group. In addition to being very active in her church parish, Wanda also served as vice president of Beta Sigma Phi Chapter of Xi Delta Pi. An avid gardener and lover of flowers, it brought her great pleasure to work in her yard. She was a loving and devoted, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her mother, Lena Blanchard Latiolais of Catahoula; one son, Michael Walker of Cecilia; two daughters, Michelle Walker Kelly and Monique Walker, both of Cecilia; one brother, Howard Troy Latiolais of Carlyss, LA; and two grandchildren, Jeremiah and MacKenzie Kelly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Walker; her father, Howard Latiolais; and two brothers, Herman and Harvey Latiolais. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Fri day and continue on Saturday at 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. A Rosary will be recited by the Rosary Group at 7 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Bart Latiolais, Brock Latiolais, Michael Walker, Kim Kelly, Bill Savoy, Kevin Latiolais, Hubert Buford, and Howard Troy Latiolais.
