Warren 'Squeaky' Ellender, Sr.

Loreauville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 14, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville for Warren "Squeaky" Ellender Sr., 70, who passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016, in Lafayette. Interment will follow in the All Saints Cemetery. Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Sunday. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until 12:15 PM. A native of Sulphur and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Ellender was born on July 10, 1946., and had worked in the oilfield for many years, and also for Mr. Perry Segura. "Squeaky" enjoyed taking care of horses and rooster fighting. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Viator Ellender; sons, Warren Ellender, Jr. of Beaumont, Texas, Marcus Opperman of Jackson, Mississippi; daughter, Carla McLeod and husband Olan of New Iberia; stepfather, Leonard Dick Haven of New Iberia; 8 Grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
