Wayne Broussard

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Wayne Joseph Broussard, 60, who passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Kindred Hospital of Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue at 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Lainey Blanchard and Gabrielle Noel. Gift bearers will be Dea Broussard and Kayla Broussard. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Waynes hobbies included tinkering with cars and motorcycles and fixing them. He was passionate about playing the guitar and occasionally enjoyed playing Bingo. He loved spending time with his family and friends, but he most especially loved spending time with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Chris Broussard of St. Martinville; two daughters, Dea Broussard and husband, Joey Bourgeois of Catahoula, and Kayla Broussard of St. Martinville; his sister, Wanda Brown of New Iberia; three grandchildren, Hannah, Brian, and Noah Bourgeois; and one great grandchild, Brielle Gilmore. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lance and Luna Boudreaux Broussard; and his sister, Susan Derouen. Pallbearers will be Joey Bourgeois, Brien Bourgeois, Lainey Blanchard, Kevin Picard, I, Kevin Picard, II, and Kerry Pelous. Honorary pallbearer will be Gabrielle Noel.
