New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 20, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Wesley E. "Willie" Williams, 89, who passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017, in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate.
A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home.
A longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Williams was born on January 5, 1928 in Briton, Oklahoma to the late Fred and Jane Kennedy Williams. He began his career in the oilfield with Denver Oil Company, and then worked 35 years for Kerr McGee. Mr. Williams also worked for Marathon Oil for15 years and as a consultant for Petroleum Engineers. He was honored to conduct a tour for the Shah of Iran, while working in the Middle East and then again in the Gulf of Mexico for the late astronaut, John Glenn, on the work platforms that he supervised. Mr. Williams enjoyed mechanic work, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his sons, Wesley Michael Williams and wife Cathy of New Iberia, Bobby Eugene Williams and wife Robin of Humble, Texas, Jimmy Wayne Williams of New Iberia; daughters, Charlotte Ann Teeter and husband Buck of Seabrook, Texas, Jeanne Mack of Kingwood, Texas; grandchildren, Nicole Quinlan and husband Jason, Paige Woodring and husband Doug, Kateri Williams Segura and husband Jarrod, Carly Williams, Dwayne Teeter, Laurie Lowery and husband John, Robert Mack and wife Kristin, Heather Bruen and husband Jason, Cameron Williams and wife Leigh; great grandchildren, Taylor Landry, Thomas Landry, Grant Quinlan, Amielle Woodring, Bennette Woodring, Whitney Woodring, Charlotte Hope Lowery, Joshua Teeter, Sofia Teeter, Kai Bruen, Ryder Bruen, Roman Segura, Williams Segura, Jarrod David Segura, and Cruz Quinlan; sister-in-law, Louise Williams of Moore, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Norma Postman Williams; brothers, Vernon Williams, and Virgil Williams; sister, Ruth Frances Beine; nephews, Joe Williams and David Beine, sisters-in-law, Betty Williams, and Bunny Williams.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Teeter, Robert Mack, Cameron Williams, Jason Quinlan, Doug Woodring, Jarrod Segura, John Lowery, and Jason Bruen.
The family would like to give special thanks to Mr. Williams special angels Kizzy, Christianna, and Enchanted for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridgeway Hospice or to the American Cancer Society.
