Whitney 'Buddy' Babineaux

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held celebrated 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia for Whitney Arthur "Buddy" Babineaux, 55, who passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 8:30 am until 11:15 am at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary, led by the Mens Rosary Group, will be prayed at 10:00 am Wednesday. A loving father and grandfather, Whitney Arthur Buddy Babineaux was born on September 24, 1962. He attended Peebles Elementary, Junior High, and then New Iberia Senior High. Whitney worked most of his life in the oilfield. A friend of Bill W., he made a Cursillo and sat at St. Peters Table. Survivors include his mother, Janet Babineaux of New Iberia; daughters, Amanda Duplantis and husband Brennen of Broussard, Abigail Babineaux of New Iberia; brother, Stephen Babineaux, II of New Iberia; sister, Melinda Breaux and husband Randy of Youngsville; granddaughter, Ali Duplantis; and niece, Morgan Breaux. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Babineaux, Sr. Pallbearers will be Stephen Babineaux II, Randy Breaux, Brennen Duplantis, Wayne Harton, Paul Richard, and Keith LaCroix.
