Whitney Comeaux

Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm on Friday, December 19, 2014, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church of Arnaudville, for Whitney Comeaux, 93, who passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Opelousas General Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm on Thursday, and continue on Friday at 7:00 am until 1:30 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Thursday. Fr. Michael DeBlanc will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Nicole Comeaux and Collette Taylor. Gift Bearers are Heather Chaisson and Kenny Marie Comeaux. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Mr. Comeaux was a lifelong resident of Arnaudville. He was a veteran of World War II, honorably serving his country in the United States Navy. Whitney was a farmer and also a Tugboat mate who worked on the Mississippi River. He is survived by his son, Keevin Comeaux and wife, Sheila, of Arnaudville; his daughter, Sister Brenda Comeaux of Opelousas; his daughter-in-law, Barbara Comeaux; his brothers, Albert Comeaux and Clayton Comeaux; his sister, Delores "Mion" Folse; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Vivian Q. Comeaux; sons, Kenneth Comeaux, Sr. and Carl Comeaux; his parents, Joseph and Cecile Trahan Comeaux; three brothers, Daly, Caliste and Euby Comeaux; and four sisters, Della Cormier, Anna Quebedeaux, Beulah Stelly and Ernestine Broussard. . Pallbearers will be Kenneth Comeaux Jr., Karl Comeaux, Jacob Comeaux, Jules Quebedeaux, Joe Chaisson, and Randy Stelly.
