Whitney Sr. Douet

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Whitney Douet, Sr., 76, who passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at his residence in Cecilia. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Rev. Louis Allen Breaux , Associate Pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the services. Readers will be Billy Boudreaux and Ginny Boudreaux. Serving as gift bearers are Clyde Douet and Whitney Douet, Jr.. Whitney loved horse racing and spending time with his son caring for the horses. He also enjoyed crawfishing and working in his yard. Most of all his passion in life was being around his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Guy Douet of Cecilia; his sons, Clyde Joseph Douet and his wife, Melanie of St. Martinville and Whitney Douet, Jr. of Catahoula; his stepsons, David Gilbert Kieff and Julius Kieff, Jr., both of Houma; his daughters, Mary Boudreaux and her husband, Johnny of Catahoula, Christine Smith and her husband, John of Catahoula, Adeline Louviere and her husband, Gill of Catahoula and Whitnie Miller and her husband, Chad of Cecilia: his stepdaughters, Cindy Price and her husband, Clay, Lori Francis and her husband, Gabby and Jennifer Gregorie and her husband, Mike all of Houma; his brothers, Stanley and Sidney Douet of Cecilia; 30 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and 3 special angels, Brooke Douet, ;Lizzie Boudreux, and Greyson Miller. ; He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchel and Adeline Landry Douet; and his grandson, Duke Gerard Douet. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m.on Monday, February 9, 2009 until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Derek Louviere, Dusty Louviere, Jamey Boudreaux, Clyde Douet, John Smith and Ricky Douet. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Gerard, Dustin Boudreaux, Justin Boudreaux, Johnny Boudreaux, Dray Louviere, Dannon Louviere, Dave Louviere, Gill Louviere, Gabe Miller, Chad Miller, Colby Douet, Clyde Douet, Jr., Brett Courville, Riggs Douet, Mark Smith, Matt Smith, Cody Boudreaux, Jody Boudreaux, Mike Douet and John Paul Douet.
