A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 10:00 AM until 1:30 pm on Friday, with Recitation of the Rosary at 12:30 PM.
Rev. Bill Melancon will be the Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Whitney "Sob" Freyou was born on February 19, 1925 to the late Simon and Anastasia Broussard Freyou. He was a retired Offshore Cargo Engineer, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working. Sob was a good man that will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jeanne Fremin Freyou; a grandson, Rene Freyou; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Freyou; brothers, Leodias Freyou, Leodas Freyou, Robert Freyou, Sidney Freyou, William Freyou, George Freyou, Roy Freyou, and Winnie Freyou; sisters, Aussie Crochet, Noemie Freyou Buteaux, Leah Freyou, Eunice Freyou Romero, Stella Freyou Martin, Sophie Freyou Bonin, and Edelia Freyou Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Henry Martin, John Paul Fremin, Kenneth Thibodeaux, William Viator, Matt Lopez, Kasey Thibodeaux, and Danny Fremin.
Honorary pallbearers are Steven Sorrel, Ricky Lopez, Harvey Blanchard, David Freyou, Fidel Fremin, Douglas Fremin, and Ernest Freyou.
