New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:30 pm on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia for Wiley Joseph Badeaux, 78, who passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, in Jeanerette.
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, with military honors by the Iberia Honor Guard.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant and Rev. Keith Landry will Con-Celebrate.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 AM Thursday.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Badeaux was born on September 29, 1938 to the late Otto and Evie Marie Romero Badeaux. He proudly served our country in the US National Guard for 9 years, and worked as a welder for Cameco Industries for 33 years. Mr. Badeaux enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Bonin Badeaux of Jeanerette; son, Bret James Badeaux and wife Angela Varnado Badeaux of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Edward Joseph Badeaux, and Laurie Michele Badeaux; great grandchild, Brantley John Badeaux; sister, JoAnn Badeaux Tyler of New Iberia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lotto Badeaux, Fred Badeaux, Gussie Badeaux Poirrier, Anna Mae Badeaux Blanchard, William Badeaux, Raymond Badeaux, Clarence Badeaux, Vernice Badeaux, and Eula Mae Badeaux.
Pallbearers will be Bret James Badeaux, Edward Joseph Badeaux, Elias "EJ" Badeaux, Marty Badeaux, Eugene "Gene" Poirrier, and Duane Francis.
