Wiley L. Latiolais

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, July 23, 2005, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Wiley L. Latiolais, 81, who died Thursday, July 21, 2005 at his residence in Breaux Bridge. Entombment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 - Mausoleum in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Latiolais owned and operated Latiolais Seatcover and Upholstery Shop in Breaux Bridge for over 25 years. He was a veteran of World War II having been awarded a Purple Heart for injuries received in battle in 1945. He was a gentle, quite man loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be missed. Despite his illness, he spent his life lovingly and tirelessly caring for his family to the very end. He loved figs, pralines, ice cream and sitting on his swing on the front porch. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mavis Angelle Latiolais; his daughter, Louizette Latiolais of Breaux Bridge; two sons, Marty Latiolais and his wife, Bonnie of Lafayette, and Neal Latiolais and his wife, Penelope of Breaux Bridge. In addition, he leaves behind his three loving granddaughters, Arielle, Angelique, and Andrea Latiolais; and two siblings, Norris Latiolais and Bernice Thibodeaux, as well. Wiley was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Lucy Hayes Latiolais; one brother, Hobson and an infant sister, Hazel. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 PM ~ 10:00 PM on Friday and continue at 8:00 AM on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Friday. Pallbearers will be Norris, Marty, and Neal Latiolais, Kenneth, Bryan, and Philip LeBlanc and Ronnie Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne and Elton Latiolais, Neal Angelle, and his two longtime friends, Kit Castille and Earl Broussard. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
