Lydia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, July 31, 2009 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia for William "Will" Francis Babineaux, 42, who died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.
Rev. Donovan Labbe will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Carolyn Peltier and Kathy Sandridge. Gift Bearers include Priscilla Romero, MacKenzi Babineaux, and Destyn Melancon.
Born on September 29, 1966, Will was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia. A graduate of New Iberia Senior High, he worked as a welder in the oilfield, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking.
Survivors include his wife, Antoinette Bodin Babineaux of New Iberia; parents, Donald and Mary Sandridge Babineaux of New Iberia; son, Coty Michael Romero and wife Priscilla of New Iberia; step daughter, Destyn Melancon of New Iberia; brother, Charles "Andy" Babineaux and wife Holly of Loreauville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Penny and Bolden Bodin of Jeanerette; brother-in-law, Paul and Crystal Bodin of Jeanerette, sister-in-laws, Amy Bodin and Angela Landry and husband Kurt all of Jeanerette; nieces, Alyse Landry of Jeanerette, MacKenzi Babineaux and Rylee Babineaux both of Loreauville; nephew, Alex Bodin of Jeanerette; and a granddaughter, Chloe Alyse due to arrive in November.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dalton and Mabel Babineaux, Sr., and William "Bill" and Evelyn Sandridge.
Pallbearers will be Coty M. Romero, Andy Babineaux, Phillip Lamperez, Derrick Sandridge, Billy Bouton, and Paul Bodin.
Honorary pallbearers include Bolden Bodin, Russell Sandridge, Kurt Landry, Drey Romero, and Jim Kyzar.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM.
