St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for William "Billy" Curtis Broussard, 77, who passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Tuesday from 8:30 am until 11:45 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 am on Tuesday morning.
Father Jason Vidrine will officiate at the Funeral Mass.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Billy was a professional cowboy, working on ranches in West Texas and his own ranches in South Louisiana. He was a United States Army veteran who served honorably during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Army Commendation Metal for heroism.
Born on November 6, 1946, in St. Martinville, Billy was known by everyone as a true cowboy, always a gentleman and always there for his friends and family. Billy's greatest pleasure was sharing many stories of his life on ranches throughout West Texas. He also loved his wife, Lisa and his children, Angel, Brandie, and Lil Billy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ann Willis Broussard; daughters, Angel Broussard Brettrager (Scott) and Brandie Broussard; son, Billy Torres Broussard (Jessica); Step-mother, Roxie Woodall Broussard Aucoin; nephew, Heath Provost; grandchildren, Regan Broussard, Si Theriot, Faith Suire, Sawyer Brettrager, Bliss Stelly, Blaise Thibodeaux, Jolie Broussard, Jean-Claire Broussard, Lily Broussard, Angelle Broussard, Anne Broussard, Brenna Broussard, Conner Broussard and Mason Broussard; great-grandchildren, Easton Broussard, Peyton Broussard, Gavin Broussard, Kayden Seaberry and Adaleigh Leblanc.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis "Cowboy" and Mildred "Tommy" Dolan Broussard; brother, Curtis Broussard, Jr.; sister, Susan B. Provost.
Pallbearers will be Robert Earl Willis, Edward Willis, Randolph Willis, Mark Willis, Kenny "Blue" Broussard, and David Chartres.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregiver, Mr. Curtis Mixon, for all the care and compassion that he bestowed on him and his wife, Lisa.
