William Clark

Henderson - William Roy (Bill) Clark was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on September 24, 1951 and went to join his Heavenly Father at the age of 60 on November 14, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Ed Clark and sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Joe Cassel. He is survived by twin sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Tom Dixon; sister, Barbara Kureska; and brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Lorraine Werner. Bill was a faithful husband of Cathy Plaisance Clark for over 40 years. He was a loving father of two children, Rebecca and James Clark. He was richly blessed by two 'adopted' daughters Lauren Robin and Lindsey Robin Racca. Bill was a 1969 graduate of Byrd High School in Shreveport and a 1971 graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Bill was an active member of Henderson Bible Church for 33 years serving in many areas of the churchs ministry. He loved helping with the upkeep of the church and graveyard grounds and cooking for special functions. Bill loved life, never met a stranger and always had a generous heart. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, 4-wheel riding and spending time with his two special dogs - Molly and Katie. Bill along with his son, James, owned a 4-wheeler repair shop, XR Motor Sports. He was a dedicated and hardworking employee of Parkway Service Group for the past 33 years. He always considered himself blessed to have spent so many wonderful years with this fine group of co-workers and business owners. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Chancellor Donald and the staff at Louisiana Oncology Associates; Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital; and Hospice of Acadiana. God blessed him with a loving family and many friends who surrounded him with endless support and prayers during his life and especially during his difficult last days. Bill was especially blessed to have friends Sue Robin and Dwight Stelly who faithfully dedicated their time and love in caring for his medical needs. The 1 p.m. service will be officiated by Pastor Sherman Soileau of Henderson Bible Church and Pastor Jerry C. Long of Green Oak Bible Church. The music will be provided by Pastor Francis LeRocque of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Lake Charles and Tricia Wright. Pallbearers include Kirt Dore, Eddie Stephens, Ronny Clark, Raymond Hebert, Dwight Stelly, Jacob Snider, and Roy Bodoin. The family asked that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Henderson Bible Church which will be dedicated to the new building fund for the furtherance of the gospel of Christ in the community or to Hospice of Acadiana. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Henderson Bible Church from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 9 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Pellerin Funeral Home (337.332.2111) is in charge of arrangements.
