New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for William Lee Dempsey, 19, who went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Paul Neel will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Born on July 16, 1993 in New Iberia, William had plans of attending Law School. An avid gun collector, he loved history, sports cars, and was a Pro Gamer. He was a kind and polite person, who was very family oriented. Survivors include parents, Brain Lee Dempsey and Louise Hewell Dempsey of New Iberia; grandmother, Dorothy P. 'Jackie' Dempsey of New Iberia; sister, Lisa Marie Dempsey of New Iberia; uncles, Michael J. Dempsey and wife Pamela of New Iberia, Stephen J. Dempsey and wife Aleta of Houma, Glenn A. Dempsey of Seattle, Washington, Mac Hewell and wife Robin of New Iberia. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jay Thomas Dempsey; grandparents, William Holt Hewell, Jr., Bertha Maxwell Hewell, Lee Dempsey; uncles, Christopher W. Dempsey, and James 'Jim' Hewell. Pallbearers will be Chris Hewell, Jim Hewell, Joel Dempsey, Trevor Primeaux, Donnie Breaux, and Travis Delcambre. Honorary pallbearers include Nathan Menard, Bret Menard, Johnathon Cochran, and Derek Peltier.
