William 'Blink' Landry

Loreauville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville for William "Blink" Landry, 82, who passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017, in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. Rev. Buddy Breaux will be the Celebrant and Rev. Barry Crochet will Con-Celebrate. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 pm Wednesday. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until 9:15 am. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Landry was born on January 21, 1935 to Judge S.O. Landry and Anita Mouhot Landry, and was a graduate of New Iberia High. He was a retired Captain from the New Iberia Fire Department and was the owner of William R. Landry & Son Masonry. Mr. Landry enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Goldie Dugas Landry of New Iberia; sons, William "Bill" Landry, Jr. and wife Julie of New Iberia, Kevin Landry and wife Kim of New Iberia; daughters, Catherine Gamble and husband David of New Iberia, Debra Reed and husband Stephen of Belle Chasse; daughter-in-law, Cindy Landry Kiper and husband Ben of New Iberia; grandchildren, Amanda Dorsey and husband Cody, Briley Landry, Kayla Reed, Jenna Reed, Zachary Reed, Courtney Landry, Mallory Landry, Amelie Landry; and great grandchildren, Angeli Dorsey, Abigail Dorsey, and Kaison Landry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brett Landry, and brothers, George Emile Landry, and Homer Neil Landry. Pallbearers will be William "Bill" Landry Jr., Kevin Landry, Stephen Reed, Zachary Reed, Briley Landry, and David Gamble. Honorary pallbearers include Gerald Viator, Calvin Segura, Cagle Derouen, Cody Dorsey, Guy Dugas, and Earl Dugas.
