New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for William Louis McDavid , 67, who passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, in Lafayette. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Mr. McDavid was born on September 26, 1948 in Lafayette, to William McDavid and Loretta Broussard McDavid. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Marines, during the Vietnam War from 1965 until 1968, and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. Mr. McDavid worked retail and healthcare throughout his life, and had lived in several different communities including New Iberia, Delcambre, Houston, Texas City, and Lafayette. He was a member of the American Legion Post 29 in Abbeville.. Survivors include special friends, Earl Fontenot and wife Cheryl of Delcambre, Chris Sorenson of Houston, Texas; sister, Juanita Thibodeaux and husband Ed of Delcambre; and his beloved dog, "Nana". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Dorothy "Dot" Baranco; and his beloved dogs "Tia" and "Midnight".
