Willie Obermier

Lafayette - A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon , on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Willie Frank Obermier, Sr., 76, who passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Mr. Obermier was the owner and operator of Power Tongs & Rental, an oilfield related business in Breaux Bridge. He enjoyed his work and in his free time he enjoyed training horses, gardening, cooking, and going to the car races. Survivors include his wife, Barbara 'Bobbie' T. Obermier of Lafayette; his son, Willie 'Butch' Frank Obermier, Jr. (Terry) of Wichita Falls, TX; a step son, Joseph Delhomme of Lafayette; three step daughters, Paula Antoine (David), Monique Billeaud (Gene), all of Breaux Bridge, and Maria Dyer (Douglas) of Birmingham, AL; his brother, Jim Obermier of Henrietta, TX; his sister, Emma Smith (Harold) of Wichita Falls, TX; 14 grandchildren, Tabitha, Waylon, Jacob, Ashley, Anthony, Molly, Mindy, Andr, Jacques, Jada, Paul, Coby, Allyson, and Benjamin; and 4 great grandchildren, Lilly, Ames, Aubrey, and Nora. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Frank Obermier and Lora Gertrude Roy Obermier; his first wife, Laura Anita Gill Obermier; and a son, Derrell Scot Obermier.
