Willie Allen Savoy

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 3, 2023, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Willie Allen Savoy, 78, who passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

A visitation will take place at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Friday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

A rosary will be prayed at 09:30 am on Friday, February 3, 2023.

Rev. Marvin Gyasie, S.V.D. will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at House of Love Cemetery.

Willie enjoyed walks in the neighborhood and speaking with everyone he came in contact with.  He was a very hard worker, working for many years at J.B. Talley, Inc., Martin Mills, and St. Martinville Jr. High before he retired. 

He is survived by wife of 56 years Margaret Etienne Savoy; sons, Byron (Liza) Savoy and Corey (Shontell) Savoy; grandchildren, Theron, Lasandra, Donovan, Brendon, Alayjah, Daylan, and Kinsley; great grandchildren, Mar'ly and Ava Camille; sisters, Mary Joyce George, Monitta (Alvin) Jones, Zelma Ann (Leroy Banks) Savoy, and Mary Camille Savoy; brothers, Wilson (Willamae) Savoy, Jasper (Janice) Savoy, and Charles George; sisters-in-law, Lucy Savoy, Pamela Savoy, Verna Garrett, Judy Etienne, and Cheryl Etienne; and brother-in-law, William Guidry.

He is preceded in death by his parents Samson and Edith Champ Savoy; his step-mother who raised him, Ida George Savoy; brothers, Whitney Savoy, Sr., Charlie Savoy, Sr., Fedrick Savoy, and Samuel Savoy; nephews, Whitney Savoy, Jr., John Phillip Savoy, Sr., and Bernard George; and his niece, Kouminique Savoy.

Pallbearers will be Byron Savoy, Corey Savoy, Theron Savoy, Samson Jones, Kevin Etienne, and Ronald Francois. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Daylan Savoy, Jasper Savoy, Wilson Savoy, Charles George, Albert Durgan, and Olan Etienne.
