New Iberia ;- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, August 9, 2008, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Willis Paul Romero, 86, who passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 in New Iberia. ; Entombment will follow in Beau Pre Mausoleum in Jeanerette. ; Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant. Lisa Dorsey and Cindy Romero will proclaim the readings. Gift Bearers include Dawn Bourg and Tessie Krotz. ; Born on May 27, 1922 in Coteau, Mr. Romero is the retired owner of Will's Sand and Gravel Company, which he founded in 1974. An avid fisherman and hunter, he also enjoyed gardening, raising cattle, playing golf and most of all visiting with family and friends. ; Survivors include his children, Larry Romero and wife Aline, Judy Dorsey and husband Duaine, and Mark Romero and wife Cindy all of New Iberia; sister, Rita LeBlanc of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Doug Dorsey, David Dorsey, Dustin Dorsey, Dawn Bourg, Tessie Krotz, Bret Romero, Madison Romero, Ben Romero; 6 great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, "Joe" ; He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lula Mae Norris Romero; parents, Felecien and Valerie Romero; brothers, Clovis Romero, Robley Romero, Alex Romero, Francis Romero, Jesse Paul Romero; sisters, Noelie Pellerin, Lorita Romero, and Olite Romero. ; Pallbearers include Mark Romero,Doug Dorsey, Dustin Dorsey, Bret Romero, Chris Bourg, and Louis Hebert. ; Honorary pallbearers include Joe Broussard, Lawrence Freyou, Karl Romero, Ben Romero, Tommy Thibodeaux, and Lynn Romero. Mr. Romero's family would like to extend special thanks to all of his care providers for their extraordinary care and compassion. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday.
