Wilton Bonin

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2007, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Wilton J. Bonin, 85, who died Friday, March 2, 2007 at his residence in St. Martinville. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Loreauville. Fr. Austin Leger, pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church will conduct the services. Mr. Bonin was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. ?He retired as an Insurance Agent of many years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Cecilia. ??Mr. Bonin was a lovable person who expressed his personality through dancing and telling jokes while spending time with his family, friends and his companion of 18 years. Survivors include by his companion, Cecile Viator of St. Martinville; his sisters, Lorraine B. Romero and Jean B. Romero and her husband, J.C. all of New Iberia; his brothers, Aymar Bonin, Jr., and his wife, Leanna of Arnaudville, Albert Bonin, and his wife, Dolores of Loreauville; his granddaughters, Shelly Kelly of Houston, TX., and Heather Johnson of Broussard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Latiolais Bonin; his parents, Aymar and ?Arsene Albert Bonin, Sr.; his son, Eddie Bonin; his brothers, Alton, Moise, Homer, Desire, Alvin and Oswald Bonin; his sister, Girtie Dugas; his maternal grandparents, Clopha and Elise Albert; and ?his paternal grandparents, Desire and Elizabeth Bonin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 7 a.m. on Monday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
