New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM , Thursday, March 15, 2012 , at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Wilton Paul Roy, 81, who passed away on Monday, March 13, 2012 in Lafayette . Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery , in Jeanerette. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 9:30 AM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Wednesday.. Visitation will continue Thursday from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM . Born on April 15, 1930 , Mr. Roy was a resident of Jeanerette, and had worked in the oilfield for several years. For 16 years he was the owner of the Wheel Inn in Lydia , and Roy s Lounge in New Iberia . Mr. Roy enjoyed horse racing, gardening, and taking care of his dog, 'Blackie'. Survivors include his sons, Ray Allen Roy of Rayne, Patrick Roy of Rayne, Darrel Roy and wife Marguerite of Anahuac, Texas; daughters, Cynthia Bourque and husband Bobby of Duson, Terry Comeaux and husband Bert of Rayne; step son, Patrick Gaspard of Jeanerette; step daughter, Peggy Eskind and husband Mauldin of New Iberia; brothers, Nolton Roy of Lafayette, Chester Roy of Bayou Vista, Leo Roy of Scott; sister, Rose Venable of Duson; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Hewas preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Gaspard; son, J.D. Roy; brothers and sisters, Joseph Roy, Amanda Cormier, Wilbert Roy, Walter Roy, Wilfred Roy, Ivy Roy, Eva Cormier, and Gladys Bellard. Pallbearers will be Bobby Bourque, Ray Allen Roy, Bert Comeaux, Jason Roy, Darrel Roy, Randy Degeyter, and Nolton Roy. Honorary pallbearers include Patrick Gaspard and Pat Roy.
