Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Friday, February 20, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, for Winola Roy Guidroz, 93, who passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015, at St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, February 19, 2015 and continue on Friday at 8:00 am until 9:30 am. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 pm on Thursday, by Deacon Marcel Butch Hebert.
Rev. Donovan Labbe will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Roxanne Roy and gift bearers will be Barbara Guidroz and Keith Whittington. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Winola enjoyed spending time with her family and will be dearly missed. She was a Beautician most of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Cormier; her son, Ronnie Guidroz and his wife, Barbara; her 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Lucien Roy, mother, Clara Fuselier, husband, Earl Joseph Guidroz, son-in-law, Ricky Cormier, 6 brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Kip Cormier, Kyle Cormier, John "DD" Guidroz, Kody Hebert, Lyle Guidry, and Chase Guidroz.
Honorary pallbearers will be her 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Warren Degatur and Wendy Fuselier, nurses and aids at St. Martin Hospital, her caregivers, Elaine Johnson and Jennifer Langlinais, and employees at St. Martin Nursing Home for their excellent care, compassion and kindness shown to our mother.
