New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Winola Borel Prioux, 90, who passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Maison Teche Nursing Home.
Entombment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
Rev. William Blanda will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 pm Monday. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Prioux was born on November 21, 1930 to the late Walter A. and Martha Crochet Borel. She worked at the Iberia Sugar Co-Op, GSRI at the air base, and at the Rosary House. Mrs. Prioux enjoyed taking photographs, cutting her grass and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Prioux Jr. (Janet) of New Iberia; daughter, Donna Prioux of New Iberia; six grandchildren, Kylie Dartez (Josh), Jaki Romero (Rory), Billie Mier (Marcus), Christopher Prioux (Mindi), Lexi LeBlanc (Blake), and Katie Broussard (Zac); 12 great grandchildren; and her godchild, Emily Zegura.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Prioux, Sr. and a brother, Louis Armond.
Pallbearers will be Josh Dartez, Christopher Prioux, Rory Romero, Nathan Prioux, Carter Boutte, and Hayden Dartez.
