Wyva Mae Verret Delahoussaye

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 3 pm, on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Wyva Mae Verret Delahoussaye, 78, who passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9 am until 2:45 pm on Wednesday, Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560. A rosary will be prayed at 11 am. Fr. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Service. Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia. Mrs. Delahoussaye worked at Hopkins Elementary School in the cafeteria and also cooked for First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors while working in her garden. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Joseph Delahoussaye, Sr. of New Iberia; three sons, Joseph "Boy" Delahoussaye, Jr. and wife, Janet, Wade Delahoussaye, Sr. and wife, Tanya, and Dwight Delahoussaye, all of New Iberia; her daughter, Sedonia Delahoussaye Boutte and husband, Alwin, of New Iberia; her siblings, Larry Verret and wife, Evalena, and Mary Ann Gachassin and husband, Rickey, all of New Iberia; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Edmae Sonnier Verret; and two brothers, Oswald "Red" and Lloyd "Johnny" Verret. Pallbearers will be Joseph Boy Delahoussaye, Jr., Wade Delahoussaye, Sr., Joseph Delahoussaye, III, Dylan Delahoussaye, Wade Delahoussaye, Jr., and Jordan Delahoussaye. Honorary pallbearers will be Kurt Delahoussaye, Larry Verret, and Travis Breaux.
