Yola Belaire Douet

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, in Breaux Bridge for Yola Marie Belaire Douet, 81, who died on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at her residence. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2, in Breaux Bridge. Rev. Fr. Chanh Nguyen, will officiate at the funeral service. ?Readers will be Tisa Broadbent and Madonna Talley. ?Gift bearers will be Doris Guidry, Brenda Douet, and Elsie Stelly. Mrs. Douet was retired from the St. Martin Parish School Board after working for 25 years at the St. Martinville Senior High School Cafeteria. ?She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, in Henderson. ?She enjoyed drinking coffee while spending time with her family, and she also enjoyed the beautiful flowers in her garden. Survivors include one son, Charles Douet and his wife, Brenda; two daughters, Doris Guidry and her husband, Edward, and Elsie Stelly, all of Breaux Bridge; two brothers, Albert Belaire, of Breaux Bridge, and Robert Belaire, of New Iberia; one sister, Betty Parr, of St. Martinville; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Douet; her parents, William and Cecile Barras Belaire; and two sisters, Theresa Pourciau and Winola Leleux. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Ernie Boutte, David Stelly, Todd Romero, Glenn Gallet, Yates Usie, and Gary Talley. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Guidry, Greg Gallet, Ted Talley, and Wilson Stelly, Jr. The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, their staff and Doctors, for all the wonderful care they provided her with during her illness.
