Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:30 pm on Friday, August 27, 2021, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Yolande Barras Guidry, 93, who passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home, surrounded by her family.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 7:30 am until 3:00 pm on Friday.A rosary will be prayed by JoEllen Guidry at 1:00 pm on Friday.Rev. Garrett Savoie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Heidi Robin and Tracy Sonnier. Gift bearers will be Kristy, Lena and Kale Bourque. Altar servers will be Christopher Robin and Liam Robin. Musical selections will be played and sung by Laura Huval.Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Affectionately called "Loon", Yolande, was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She married her husband, Steven Joseph Guidry, on April 23, 1949, and had three sons. She was a caregiver by nature and adored taking care of her family and others. She spent time volunteering with St. Martin Council on Aging. Yolande loved to play Bingo, Pokeno, Bourrée, go to the casino, and out to eat Chinese, and she especially loved to cook for her loved ones. She will be dearly missed.She is survived by her three sons, Lynn James Guidry (JoEllen), Darrel "Boo Boo" Joseph Guidry (Sara), and Larry Charles Guidry; grandchildren, Iris Guidry Miller (Roger), Leslie Guidry Brown (Chris), Kristy Guidry Bourque (Shannon), Heidi Guidry Robin (Christopher) and Tracy Guidry Sonnier (Ji); and great grandchildren, Joshua Miller, Jacob and Gunnar Miguez, Liam and Estelle Robin, and Lena and Kale Bourque.She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Joseph Guidry; parents, Edvin and Angela Thibodeaux Barras; daughter-in-law, Barbara Guidry; and a great grandchild, Christian Blaine Robin. Pallbearers will be Lynn James Guidry, Darrel "Boo Boo" Joseph Guidry, Larry Charles Guidry, Joshua Miller, Jacob Miguez, and Gunnar Miguez.Honorary pallbearers will be Nolan “Pookie” Wiltz, Allen Devillier, Orest Theriot, Russell Thibodeaux, Roger Miller, Chris Brown, Shannon Bourque, Christopher Robin, Ji Sonnier, Liam Robin, and Kale Bourque.The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at J.
