Yolande Wiltz Skipper

St. Martinville A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Yolande Wiltz Skipper, 92, who passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 am. Rev. Augustinus Seran will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Gift Bearers will be Justice Williams, Alana Allen, Victoria Davis, Dillan Anthony, Malik Anthony, and Vaida Saucer. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mrs. Skipper enjoyed caring for children that would go to her home. She loved all kinds of jewelry, especially rings. A devout Catholic, she loved watching EWTN on television and enjoyed praying along. Yolande loved her family unconditionally and cherished moments spent with her family and friends at many get-togethers. She is survived by five daughters, Lucy Mallery and husband, Victor, of St. Martinville; Audrey Saucer and husband, Leo, of St. Joseph, MI, Shirley Williams of Cade, Ann Thompson and husband, Joseph, of Glendale, MD, and Geraldine Amos of Lafayette; her son, Leroy Skipper, Sr. and wife, Alberta, of Cypress Island; her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Skipper of Breaux Bridge; 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wesley Skipper; her son, James Aaron Skipper; parents, Charlie and Ernestine Benjamin Wiltz; a daughter-in-law, Lovess Skipper; son-in-law, Carrol Williams; and her siblings, Lionel, Loretta, Yola, Joseph and Sostan. Pallbearers will be Leroy Skipper, Jr., Keenan Skipper, Sean Skipper, James Michael Skipper, Marvin J. Malveaux, Jr., Carroll Wayne Williams, Malik Anthony and Billy Wiltz. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Skipper, Sr., Victor Mallery, Leo Saucer, Joseph Thompson, Paul Filer, Carter Joseph, Rufus Joseph, Harris Joseph, and Wilson Filer.
