Yvonne was born on September 7, 1940, to the late Louis and Ada Moore Boudreaux. She lived a life dedicated to serving others and left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Yvonne embarked on her career alongside her loving husband, Jasper Russo, Sr., working as a Vegetable Farmer. For many years, they tirelessly delivered fresh produce to our local community stores. Their commitment to providing for our community was unparalleled.

In addition to her work as a farmer, Yvonne also made a significant impact in the field of education. She worked for the Iberia Parish School Board as a Teacher's Aide for an admirable 25 years. During this time, she mentored teachers and provided invaluable support to special needs children. Yvonne's dedication and passion for education were evident in every aspect of her work.

Beyond her role as a Teacher's Aide, Yvonne held the position of Director of Student Care at Magnolia Elementary for 20 years. She recognized the need for extended school care and worked tirelessly to help working parents by providing them with much-needed support. Her unwavering commitment to the well-being of students and families will be remembered by countless individuals whose lives she touched.

Even after retiring from her long and successful career in education, Yvonne's love for teaching remained strong. She continued to serve as a long-term substitute teacher for the Iberia Parish School Board for an additional decade. Her deep connection with her students and her passion for imparting knowledge brought joy to both herself and those under her care.

Yvonne was not only dedicated to her professional life but also took an active role in various aspects of our community. As a devout Catholic, she set a strong faith-based foundation for her family and served as a pillar of spirituality. Yvonne actively participated in the Religious Education Commission and was a member of the St. Marcellus Parish Counsel, where she offered her guidance and support. Additionally, she dedicated 20 years of her life as a Catechism Teacher, sharing her faith with younger generations.

Yvonne's commitment to civic duty extended beyond religious circles. For an impressive 25 years, she served as a Commissioner of Elections, ensuring the integrity and fairness of our local democratic processes. Her dedication to democracy and community engagement will always be remembered.

She also found time to contribute to the growth and development of young minds as a Cub Scout Den Mother. Yvonne's involvement in scouting allowed her to instill valuable life skills in countless young boys, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.

Outside of her professional and community work, Yvonne enjoyed spending quality time with her loved ones. She was an active member of the Pokeno Group, where she formed meaningful connections with close family and friends for 20 years. Yvonne's warm smile and loving nature made every gathering memorable.

In her later years, Yvonne found solace in two cherished hobbies - reading and gardening. An avid reader, she immersed herself in engrossing tales that transported her to different worlds. Her expansive garden was a testament to her green thumb and brought beauty to her surroundings.

Beyond all these accomplishments, Yvonne was renowned for being an amazing cook. Her culinary skills delighted family and friends alike. Whether baking mouth-watering pies or preparing hearty meals, Yvonne's creations were filled with love, warmth, and unmatched flavor.

Yvonne Boudreaux Russo's memory will be cherished by all whose lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to others.
