Yvonne Broussard Bourda

Loreauville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, July  2, 2022, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Loreauville, for Yvonne Broussard Bourda, 89, who passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Garden View Assisted Living in New Iberia.

Rev. Aaron Melancon will be the Celebrant.

Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 8:30 AM until 10:15 AM on Saturday.

A rosary, led by Deacon Roland Jeanlouis, will be prayed at 9:30 AM on Saturday.

Yvonne Broussard Bourda was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on April 20, 1933 to the late Lawrence Broussard and Fannie Edgar Broussard. She was an excellent baker and cook, and was known for her okra gumbo. She enjoyed reading and gardening, and was a great hugger! Mrs. Bourda was always there for her family, no matter what. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Cheryl B. Anthony of Carencro, Bridget Richard of Opelousas, Angela Alex (husband John Steven Alex, Sr.) of Loreauville, and Melanie Nelson (husband, Leo "Tony" Nelson) of Humble, TX; brothers, Lawrence Broussard (wife Faye), Richard Broussard (wife Mildred), and James "Jim" Broussard (wife Monica); sisters, Sylvania Patin (husband Eric), Patricia Tenette (husband Kendall), and Fannie Pellerin; grandchildren, Cherry Anthony, Samantha Ardoin, Barrett Richard, Natalie Fontenot, Tabitha Christentery, MaLeah Smith, Kasie Riley, and Collin Nelson; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Bourda; son-in-law, Patrick Richard; brother, Norman Broussard and wife Agnes Broussard; sister, Mary Ann Jolivette and husband Arthur “Ossie” Jolivette; brother-in-law, Arnold "Bud" Pellerin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Eula B. Bourda; and sisters-in-law, Catherine (and husband Jerome) Fontenette and Anna Mae (and husband Clifton) Washington.
