Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Zula Mouton Duplechin, 86, who passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at her residence.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville.
Father Keenan Brown will officiate at the funeral service. Readers will be Sandra Miller and Chelsy Menard.
Mrs. Duplechin loved visiting with her daughter, grandchildren, family and friends. She enjoyed singing, dancing, walking, and dressing up - she graciously accepted and appreciated any gift that her family gave her. She had a sweet tooth and enjoyed eating anything sweet. Mrs. Duplechin enjoyed watching the Golden Girls on t.v., and always loved the challenge of hunting for things that others had lost.
Survivors include her daughter, Sable D. Landry, of Cecilia; one sister, Beulah Mistric, of Leonville; seven grandchildren, Nichole Landry, Shelly Landry, Cheryl Menard, Sandra Miller, Rodney Smith, Raymond Smith, and Lisa Smith; and ten great grandchildren, Bryce Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez, Hannah Gautreaux, Maitlyn Patin, Chelsy Menard, Chase Menard, Ryan Miller, Brooke Miller, Taylor Smith, and Kristen Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Faranta Duplechin; her parents, Cleus and Odellie Lanclos Mouton; one daughter, Mabel Mary Smith; her brothers, Roderick, Preston, Clesmae, Cleus, Jr., Alfred, and Leroy Mouton; and her sisters, Annabelle and Edith Mouton, and Claemae Louviere.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 3 p.m. on Monday and continue until 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Bryce Rodriguez, Shelly Landry, Nichole Landry, Donald Bearb, Rodney Smith, and Raymond Smith.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
